Privacy Policy
Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Vibe Check is operated by Tailored Surveys, Inc., a [STATE OF INCORPORATION] corporation (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Vibe Check website, API and connector (the “Service”), what we do with it, and the choices you have. We are the business responsible for (the “controller” of) this information.
Summary
- We collect your email, your survey answers, and your AI agent's predictions of your answers.
- We ask about political opinions only if you separately opt in, and you can withdraw that at any time.
- We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising, and we do not use it to target ads.
- You can download or permanently delete your data yourself, at any time, from your account page.
- The Service is for adults (18+) who live in the United States.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your email address and a password (stored only as a salted cryptographic hash), and your confirmation that you are 18 or older and live in the United States.
- Consent records: which consents you gave or withdrew, the version of the wording, and when.
- Survey answers: your multiple-choice answers about topics such as shopping, habits, lifestyle and values.
- Sensitive information (opt-in only): if you tick the separate political-questions consent, your answers about your political opinions, such as party identification, ideology and views on public issues.
Information from your AI agent
- Agent predictions: when you connect an AI agent (such as Meta's Muse), it sends us its prediction of how you would answer each question and, optionally, how confident it is. We treat these predictions as personal information about you, and as sensitive information where they concern political opinions.
- We do not receive your Muse conversations, memory, files, contacts or any other content from your agent. The connector only lets your agent read the questions, submit predictions and read scores.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and security data: IP address, timestamps, and basic request logs, used to operate and secure the Service and to limit abuse.
- Cookies: one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in. We use no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: run the survey, compare your answers with your agent's predictions, and show you the results.
- To produce statistics and research about how accurately AI agents can represent people, and to develop and improve our survey and “digital twin” products. Where we publish or commercialize findings, we use aggregated or de-identified information.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with law.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the Service.
We use sensitive information only for the first two purposes above, and only on the basis of your opt-in consent. We do not use personal information to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not build advertising profiles.
3. How we disclose information
- Service providers (processors) that host and operate the Service for us under contract, currently Fly.io, Inc. (application hosting and database storage in the United States). They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Your AI agent. Your agent always receives the survey questions and, once both of you have finished, overall scores. It receives your answer to each individual question only if you opt in to that on the consent form. Information your agent receives is then held by the agent's provider (for Muse, Meta) under that provider's terms and privacy policy, not ours.
- Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be shared with customers, partners or researchers, or published. We commit to maintaining it in de-identified form and not attempting to re-identify it, and we require recipients to do the same.
- Legal and safety: where required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or us.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, information may be transferred subject to this policy. We will notify you before your personal information becomes subject to a different policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
4. Your choices and rights
Regardless of which state you live in, you can:
- Access and port your data: download everything we hold about you from your account page.
- Delete your data: delete your account, which immediately and permanently removes your account, answers, agent predictions, consent records and credentials from our live systems.
- Withdraw consent for sensitive information: turn off political questions on the consent form; we then delete the political answers and predictions we hold for you.
- Correct inaccurate account information by contacting us. Survey answers are final by design; if you want them removed, you can delete them.
- Disconnect your agent: revoke any API key or connection from your account page, or disconnect the connector in Muse.
You may also exercise these rights, or use an authorized agent to do so, by emailing [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. We will verify the request using your account email and respond within 45 days. If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will respond to appeals within 60 days, and if the appeal is denied you may contact your state attorney general. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
5. Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is open. If you do not sign in for 24 months we will delete your account or de-identify your data. When you delete your account, data is removed from live systems immediately and from backups within 35 days. We keep a minimal record that a deletion occurred (with no personal information) and may keep aggregated or de-identified information.
6. Security
We encrypt data in transit, store passwords and access credentials only as cryptographic hashes, restrict internal access, and rate-limit the Service. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you as the law requires.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Where we operate
The Service is offered only to residents of the United States, and information is processed in the United States. We do not offer the Service to people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
9. Third-party services
Your AI agent and the platform it runs on (for example Meta's Muse) are independent of us. Their handling of your information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Changes
If we make material changes we will update the effective date, notify you by email or on the Service, and, where the change affects how we use sensitive information, ask for your consent again.
